Main idea: They tell how Athens travels to Sparta. A famous descendant approaches Telemachus and asks to come aboard. Telemachus welcomes him and offers him hospitality when they get to Ithaca. Also somewhere else Odysseus urges an old man not to go out of his way and says that he will earn his keep working for the suitors, but Eumaeus will have none of it. Odysseus and the swineherd then swap their stories. Odysseus’s father, bought him in Ithaca.
In the book The Odyssey it shows The path and situations Odysseus and his son have been on, and when Telemachus came back, and the time before Odysseus is back from his long 18 year journey.

Chapter 21
The man idea in book 21 The Odyssey by Homer is when Odysseus gets back home he discised himself as someone else, but shows himself to Eumaeus and Philoetius by the scar on his foot. Also, his wife announced she will marry the suitor who can string the bow and arrow of Odysseus's and then shoot an arrow through a line of twelve axes. Therefore the suitors complained because they knew he's gonna get it. And he did, he got all 12.
In book 21 of The Odyssey by Homer is Telemachus being both protective and stubborn, but mostly stubborn. He's being protective when after his father shot every ax, Telemachus grabbed his sword and spear and he was immediately at his father's side. But mostly Telemachus was being more stubborn when he tells his mom to go to her room and stay because he says "He is the master in the house", or when he wanted to make the axes as hard as possible to weave through so the suitors couldn't win Penelope.

Reading log for book 12
The main idea in book 12 The Odyssey by Homer is Odysseus's time being away and coming upon some monsters and challenges they deal with a six-headed monster who swallows on sailer for each of their heads. And the other monster Charybdis which is an enormous whirlpool. And has to deal with being stuck on an island again and loosing his men again from Zeus's punishments.
In the book The Odyssey By Homer in book 12 the women in here are helpful with Odysseus, in the beginning of this book Circe helps him and tells him the difficulties he will face and how to face them and they seem to be attracted to him and the men are the opposite, they seem to find trouble for them and start a whole thing, such as a man on the island on the sun persuades the other crew members to disobey Odysseus and slaughter the cattle of the Sun.

The main idea of book 9 in The Odyssey is Odysseus and his men landed on the land of the Cyclopes, the son of Poseidon. They ate some wild goats there before crossing the mainland. Odysseus's men lead him to snatch some of the food and run off, but then he gets greedy and starts to be all that. While he tries to snatch food the Cyclops Polyphemus returns back. The Cyclopes devours two of Odysseus’s men and keeps Odysseus and the rest in his cave for meals. The next day, Odysseus finds a wooden staff in the cave and hardens it in the fire. When Polyphemus returns, Odysseus gets him drunk on wine that he brought along from the ship. while he gets him drunk Polyphemus asks Odysseus his name and replies that his name is Nobody. As soon as Polyphemus knocks out from being drunk Odysseus selects a group of his men stab the red-hot staff into his eye. Polyphemus wakes with a yell, and his neighbors come to see what is wrong, but they leave as soon as he calls out, Nobody’s killing me and they couldn't understand what went wrong. After the morning Odysseus and his men escape from the cave, unseen by the blind Polyphemus, by hanging to the bellies of the sheep as they go out the blind giant prays to his father, Poseidon, calling for vengeance on Odysseus.
In the book The Odyssey by Homer in chapter 9 it shows how Odysseus is and how smart he can be, he starts to blab about how he was the one who stabbed the monsters eye out and gets very stuck up about it since he is not like an ordinary man. Connecting him to an epic hero is almost similar. An epic hero is someone who is known for something or has a good deed. Compared to our definition like the hulk or someone who saves people. Odysseus is an epic hero cause he does have an amount of good strength and gets out of the way of trouble.

The main idea in the chapter 5 of The Odyssey was all the gods went to a meeting on Mount Olympus to discuss Odysseus’s life. Hermes, the messenger of the gods was sent to Calypso’s island to tell her that Odysseus is allowed to leave so he can return home to his family and kingdom. Then Calypso complains that they can't take him, but does because of Zeus, by the time he was free it has been years and his crew and boat were torn apart so Calypso gave him a boat and a new crew from her island. After that he spots and lands on the island of the Phaeacians. After Poseidon makes a storm and drags Odysseus under it. Athena then comes to his rescue after Poseidon's beating and lands on land after swimming.
In book 5 of The Odyssey by Homer identifies how much the gods really don't like Odysseus after all, but there is hope by some that want to help him. And the troubles that he faces along the way trying to do his quest and get him to his wife and his son that has never met him before. Reading log 1
Book 1: In the book The Odyssey by Homer is it shows the effects on separation on how one son didn't care much about his father for not knowing him. What threatens the families is a lack of the communication, and it shows the story about Telemachus and Penelope. Telemachus is very selfish and doesn't trust anyone is what is shows to me. He likes to be a baby about the whole situation about his dad being gone for so long and questioning how if his dad is alive or not. Penelope cares and knows that he is still there, but questions it. She misses and loves Odysseus so much.

And how Calypso captures him when he sets on an island for about five years and wants him to herself. Then Athens comes out to the wife and says that her husband is still alive and tells Zeus the god of all gods and goddesses to let him go home to his family.

What role does your family have in making you the person you are today? In other words, what part do they serve in all those memories and personality traits you wrote about?
Family is always gonna be the number one thing on our priority list and they have a huge role in my life. They had made me a stronger person throughout in elementary school first, since I didn't have the best 5 years of my life there being bullied and bothered making my self esteem down. And my life a whole lot better by moving out of Florida and moving to Colorado. They are my best friends and has always been there for me for anything when I need them. Also, they are always there to laugh at a joke I make. Having them laugh makes me wanna be even more funny since my whole life has been around adults so it gives me the chance to be more mature then anything. They have definitely made a difference in making me who I am today especially me being short from my mom. I love them and thank them for putting me in the right path of life.
